The Ligue 2 season 2008–09 was the sixty-seventh[1] edition since its establishment, and began on August 1, 2008 and ended on May 29, 2009. The fixtures were announced on May 23, 2008.[2]

- RC Strasbourg, relegated after losing to SM Caen on May 10, 2008.
- RC Lens, relegated after drawing with FC Girondins de Bordeaux on May 17, 2008.
