Li Xian (Chinese: 李现; born 19 October 1991)[1] is a Chinese actor best known for his roles in the dramas Who Sleeps My Bro, Medical Examiner Dr. Qin and Tientsin Mystic.

Early life

Li Xian was born at Jingzhou, Hubei, China. He studied at Hubei Jingzhou High School. In 2010, he was enrolled into Beijing Film Academy, where he majored in performance.[2]

Career

In 2011, Li Xian debuted as an actor with a role in the film Feng Shui (万箭穿心).[3] In 2013, he starred in the romance teen flick Singing When We Are Young, produced by Andy Lau.[4] In 2014, Li made his small-screen debut in the omnibus web drama City Of Fantasy.[5]

In 2016, Li Xian starred in the coming-of-age brotherhood web series Who Sleeps My Bro. The popularity of the series brought him wider recognition.[6][7] The series was later adapted into a film starring the original cast.[8]

In 2016, Li starred in the crime medical drama Medical Examiner Dr. Qin,[9] which was acclaimed for both its storyline and performance.[10][11][12]

In 2018, Li starred in the fantasy suspense web drama Tientsin Mystic, which was broadcast internationally on Netflix.[13] The series was another critical and commercial hit;.[14] and established Li as a leading actor.[15][16]

In 2018, he starred in the romance drama Only Side by Side with You, playing a special forces agent.[17] He is set to star in the wuxia drama Sword Dynasty produced by Feng Xiaogang;[18] and romance comedy drama Go Go Squid!.[19]
