Leonardo Renan Simões de Lacerda (born 30 January 1988), commonly known as Léo, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a central defender for Cruzeiro.
Career
Born in Contagem, Minas Gerais, Léo made professional debut for Grêmio in a 2–0 away win over Náutico in the Campeonato Brasileiro on July 26, 2007. Léo came on as a 33rd-minute substitute for Itaqui.[1]
Léo scored his first professional goal for Grêmio in a 1–0 home win over Internacional in the Campeonato Brasileiro on September 16, 2007.[2] He left his club Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense on 18 December 2009 to sign for League rival Palmeiras.
With Palmeiras, Léo made good appearances for the State League, making 13 caps and scoring 2 goals. In the Brazilian Cup he played 6 times and scored 1 goal. Although these good season start, Léo played badly during the beginning of the Série A, receiving 2 red cards in 6 league matches. And becoming a substitute in Palmeiras squad.
On August 13, 2010, Cruzeiro announced that they had come to an agremment with Palmeiras, and signed the player from the São Paulo club.
