Leo Vincent Rankin (8 October 1879 – 10 May 1917)[1] was a former Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL).[2]

Rankin died of illness while on active service in World War I.[3][4] He had been suffering from hepatitis.[5]
