Lego House (Billund)

The Tree of creativity.

LEGO® House is a new LEGO experience house in the town Billund, Denmark, where the Lego brick was invented. Inaugurated in 2017, the building serves multiple functions: as a tourist attraction and exhibition, a cafe, and a Lego store.[1] The centre brands itself as Home of the Brick™.[2]

In the astonishing balancing bricks-shaped building you can dive into the more than 80-year LEGO history, marvel at the most advanced LEGO masterpieces, and not least enjoy hours of play with no less than 25 million bricks at your disposal.

The house was opened by Crown Princess Mary on 28 September[3][4] and had 70,000 visitors in the first 100 days of operation.[5]

The building housing the centre is designed by renowned Danish architect Bjarke Ingels and his company BIG.[6]

Construction

The House began as a 1:100 scale model built entirely out of Lego bricks. The building of the real house started in June 2014. The building floor area is nearly 82,000 square feet, nearly 100 feet high and covers a ground area of over 26,000 square feet.[7][8]

Lego House sets

Model 4000010 from 2014 was only sold in Billund stores.

Model 21037 released at opening in 2017 is only sold in the Lego store at the Lego House.
