Coordinates: 53°47′42″N 1°32′33″W / 53.7949°N 1.5424°W / 53.7949; -1.5424 The Leeds Freedom Bridge is a rail bridge (HUL4/53) that crosses over Lower Briggate in Leeds, West Yorkshire where an annual LBGT parade Leeds Pride finishes, now painted in the rainbow colours of the Rainbow flag.

The bridge had vital repairs by Network Rail and following this was painted in these colours and named 'Freedom Bridge" by Leeds City Council.[1] This was to relate to the LGBT area of the city below.[2] The idea came from LGBT activist Thomas Wales, who wanted to highlight the changing, progressive landscape of the city, and the painting was jointly funded by Leeds City Council and Leeds LGBT community.[3][4]

The maintenance work began in September 2016 and was completed with the paintwork in February 2017.[1][4][5]
