Lazaros Lamprou (Greek: Λάζαρος Λάμπρου; born 19 December 1997) is a Greek footballer who plays for Fortuna Sittard on loan from PAOK FC in the Eredivisie as a winger.

Career

On 13 March 2014, three years after he joined the U-17 team, Lamprou, along with nine other players, signed his first professional contract with Panathinaikos, the club he has supported since childhood.[1] In 2014, was the only Greek player to feature on a list entitled “TOP 40 young talent in world football – born in 1997″ by The Guardian.[2]

On 28 October 2015, he made his first team debut, in a 3–0 home defeat against Levadiakos for the Greek Cup. After having refused to sign a new contract with Panathinaikos, on 5 September 2016, he agreed to sign a two years' contract with Iraklis.[3] His first appearance and his first goal in Iraklis' shirt came in a Greek Superleague match against AEL, on 12 September 2016. On 29 December 2016, PAOK has announced the acquisition of the young international from Iraklis for a 3,5 years' contract on an amount of €300.000,[5] and will play in Panionios on loan from PAOK for the rest of the season. On 20 July 2017, on the second leg of the second qualifying round of Europa League, he scored his first goal with Panionios giving a two goals' lead against Gorica in a glorious 3–2 away win.[6] On 7 February 2018, Lamprou as a substitute, scored with a brilliant deft lob in the final stages, securing Panionios’ 5:1 aggregate win over Lamia and qualification for the Greek Football Cup semi-final stage. It was the first time since 2000 that the club reached the semi-finals. [7] Three days later, scores again with a penalty kick sealing a 1-0 home win game against Lamia for the Superleague. [8]

On 30 August 2018, Lazaros Lamprou, is expected to join Eredivisie club Fortuna Sittard, on loan from the Greek Cup winners until the summer of 2019. Last season, Lamprou performed well as a loanee with Panionios in the Super League, but despite spending the pre-season with PAOK, he couldn't make an impression and will aim to keep developing in Eredivisie. The 20-year-old player scored eight goals (along with five assists) at 31 performances in all competitions with the shirt of Panionios during 2017-18 season, while his current contract with PAOK expires in June of 2020. Style of Playing

Lamprou is a right footed player but with can as well play with his left foot. He can play in all behind forward positions but as a center for as well. This is due to his excellent sense of the space around the “nets”. Additionally because of his height, he is quite tall for his age, and by taken advantage of careful positioning in the “nets” area he scores quite a few times with his head.
