Layla M. is a 2016 Dutch drama film directed by Mijke de Jong.[3][4] It was selected as the Dutch entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards, but it was not nominated.[5]
Plot
Facing Islamophobia while living in Amsterdam, Layla marries a jihadist and they relocate to Jordan. Her radicalism is tested as she struggles to adjust to a patriarchal society.
