Lawrence Hott

Lawrence "Larry" Hott is an American academic and documentary filmmaker.

Hott co-founded his production company, Florentine Films, with Ken Burns and Buddy Squires.[1][2] He has produced and directed a number of documentary films for PBS and has twice been nominated for the Academy Award, received a Peabody Award, the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Journalism Award, and five blue ribbons from the American Film Festival.[1] Since the mid 2010s, Hott has taught courses in the University Without Walls program of the University of Massachusetts Amherst.[3]

Hott is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.[4]
