Latheefa Beebi Koya

Latheefa Beebi Koya or Latheefa Koya is a politician from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR). She is a current member of the central executive committee of PKR.

Latheefa Koya was born in Kerala. She is a human rights activist, politician and lawyer. She has served as Information Bureau Chief for the Youth Wing and the Legal Affairs Bureau Chief for PKR in the past.[1][2]

Latheefa Koya practiced law in Messrs Daim & Gamany. She co-founded Lawyers for Liberty in 2011. She was the advisor until 2018. Following that, she became the Executive Director.[3]

She was a member of the Petaling Jaya City Council, but quit from her post after rumours emerged regarding her expulsion from the council.[2]

Latheefa Koya revealed the purpose behind orchestrated move by PKR's Rafizi Ramli to prevent Azmin Ali from becoming the Selangor Chief Minister. The Kajang move, however, failed to achieve its true motives.[4]

Latheefa Koya criticised the Pakatan Harapan government for encouraging a young child to donate to the Tabung Harapan fund.[5]

Latheefa Koya criticised the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah for protecting a man for wanting to marry an underage girl.[6]
