Latchingdon is a village situated in Essex, England. It is situated near the city of Chelmsford.

Originally called Latchingdon & Snoreham

Established: 1042AD as "Laecedune"

A small village but with some good local amenities such as a Used Car Sales (C&L Cars), Petrol Station (with shop), Happy Shopper, Newsagents and a Chinese.

Churches

Current Church: Christ Church, built in 1857, and featuring an Essex Bell-cote.

St Michael's Church was built in 1618, but its use was limited once Christ Church was built in the centre of the village, and it was deconsecrated in 1976.

A Congregational Church was also built in the village, but it closed and is now a private house.

Latchingdon and Snoreham Poor

Under the Poor Law of 1834, Latchingdon and Snoreham became part of the Maldon Union.

Parish Council

Latchingdon Parish Council meets monthly at Latchingdon village hall.
