Larry Stimpert is an American academic administrator. He serves as the 25th president of Hampden–Sydney College.

Early life

Stimpert graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University, where he earned a bachelor's degree.[1] He earned a master in business administration from the Columbia Business School, and a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.[1]

Career

Stimpert began his career at Norfolk Southern Corporation and the Chicago and North Western Transportation Company.[2]

Stimpert was a professor of economics and finance at Colorado College, followed by DePauw University, where he was also vice president for academic affairs.[1] He has served as the 25th president of Hampden–Sydney College since 2016.[1] In February 2018, he was working on fundraising $50 million for the institution.[3]

Personal life

Stimpert has a wife, Lesley, and two children.[1]
