Larry Marks (American football)

Lawrence Eugene "Larry" Marks (December 20, 1902 – January 19, 1974) was a player in the National Football League.

Biography

Marks was born on December 20, 1902 in Wabash, Indiana.[1] He was known for his short career in college football with two of the most famous teams in history. He grew to be quite a successful mechanical engineer and entrepreneur. Later in life he moved to Los Angeles with his new wife, Gracia Connor. Marks had five children, Elizabeth, Robert, Lee, David, and Thomas Marks. Marks died early of cancer in 1974, his youngest only eleven years old.

Career

Marks was part of the first launching team of the New York Yankees during the 1927 NFL season in its baby years being a football team. The following season, he played with the Green Bay Packers, also one of the first players accepted into the Green Bay firsts seasons.

Sadly, he only played to the collegiate level at Indiana University.[2]
