Laila Fawzi (Arabic: ليلى فوزي Turkish: Leyla Fevzi), also spelt as Leila Fawzi, and Layla Fawzy, (1923–2005[1]) was a Turkish-Egyptian actress and model. She was one of the pioneers of Egyptian cinema and starred in over 85 films throughout her career.[2] In 1940 she was crowned Miss Egypt.[3]

Personal life

Fawzi was born in Turkey to an Egyptian father and a Turkish mother.[3]

She married three times; firstly to the actor Azziz Othman, followed by Anwar Wagdi, and then Jalal Moawad.[1]

Death

Fawzi died on January 12, 2005.[1]
