La Venexiana (play)

La Veniexiana ("The Venetian Girl", usually translated as "The Venetian Comedy") is an anonymous Italian comedy written in Venetian dialect in five acts from 1535-1537.^[1] The comedy plays on the dialects of Tuscany, Venice and Bergamo.^[2] It was adapted to film under the same name as an erotic comedy in 1986. It has also been adapted into a 1958 Swedish television drama film by Ingmar Bergman under the title Venetianskan (which is Swedish for "The Venetian Girl").
