Léonor Serraille (born in Lyon) is a French director and screenwriter.

Biography

She was a student at La Femis, National School of Image and Sound; Léonor Serraille graduated from the script department with the congratulations of the jury. Previously, she obtained in 2013 a master's degree in general and comparative literature at the Sorbonne-Nouvelle University.[1].

Career

During her schooling at La Femis, Léonor Serraille took part in writing and making short films such as Sonia Franco's Little Sister and Linbo Wang's Tang Meng. In 2016, she produced Body, which portrays the daily life of Cathy, a caregiver who is scrambling with a part of her family. The film is produced by Mezzanine Films and Clan Movies.[2]

For Jeune Femme, her first feature film, the filmmaker looks at the precariousness that accompanies French youth today. A young thirty-year-old played by Laetitia Dosch, Paula finds herself dropped overnight  in the Parisian jungle. Isolated and without work, she undertakes, through her encounters, her learning of adult life. The film selected in the official selection Un certain regard of the Cannes Film Festival 2017 and laureate of the Caméra d'or, prize of the best first film. The same year, Jeune Femme won the prize for best French feature film at the 6th edition of the Champs-Élysées Film Festival in Paris.[3]
