Kurukshetra is an upcoming Indian Kannada-language epic historical war film, written by J. K. Bharavi and directed by Naganna. It is based on the poem Gadhayuddha by Ranna, which itself is based on the Indian epic Mahabharata.[1][2] The story is centred on Duryodhana, a Kaurava king.[3] Produced by Muniratna Naidu, Kurukshetra is the most-expensive film ever made in Kannada cinema.[4] Movie shot in both 3d and 2d . 3d stereographer is K. P. Nambiathiri and 3D stereoscopic and 3d Vfx director is Jeemon Pullely. The complete 3d production handled by Folea studio pvt ltd. 3d camera team : Sreekumar and Sambath. 3d stereoscopic supervision team : Vinex kv, Shimal and Nivin.
The film features an ensemble cast including Darshan, Ambarish, V. Ravichandran, Arjun Sarja, Nikhil Kumar, Sneha, Meghana Raj, Saikumar Pudipeddi, Sonu Sood, Srinivasa Murthy, Danish Akhtar Saifi, Ravishankar, Hariprriya among others portraying characters from Mahabharata.[5] The score and soundtrack for the film is composed by V. Harikrishna whilst the cinematography is made by Jayanan Vincent.[6]
The filming began on 6 August 2017 with the official launch being held on the same day.[7] Major portion of the filming is being held at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.[8] The film is planned for release on June or July 2018 and is reportedly in both 2D and 3D formats
Synopsis
The story is the reinterpretation of the Mahabharata from the view of Duryodhana.
