Kuriakose Kunnacherry

Kuriakose Kunnacherry (11 September 1928 – 14 June 2017) was a Syro-Malabar Catholic hierarch.

He was born in Kaduthuruthy, as the son of Joseph and Annamma on 11 September 1928 and had his basic education at Edaykkaattu School, Kottayam, C N I L P School and St. Michael's Middle School Kaduthuruthy, and high school at S H Mount School Kottayam India. After high school studies, he joined the minor seminary at S H Mount to start his preparation towards priesthood. He continued his studies at Mangalappuzha Seminary Alwaye and Propaganda Seminary Rome and ordained in 1955, he became Coadjutor Bishop of Kottayam in 1967. That same year he was appointed Titular Bishop of Cephas. In May 1974 he became bishop of Kottayam, becoming the archbishop of that same territory in 2005.[1]
