Kristine Ciesinski

Kristine Ciesinski (July 5, 1952 – June 9, 2018) was an American opera singer who became a glider pilot.[1][2] She was a regular singer in London opera houses during the 1980s and 1990s, and was best known for her role in ENO’s 1990 production of Verdi’s Macbeth.[3][4] In the latter part of her musical career, she mainly taught singing rather than perform on the stage. In her later years, she took up gliding and was a pilot/instructor at Teton Aviation.[5] Ciesinski died in a glider crash in the mountains of Wyoming on June 9, 2018, aged 65.[6][7]

Her sister Katherine Ciesinski (born 1950) is also a well-known opera singer.[8]
