Krishna N. Ganesh

Krishna N. Ganesh (born 1953) is an Indian chemist. Currently he is the director of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Tirupati. He was previously the director of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Pune.[1]

Career

He is son-in-law of Bharat Ratna C. N. R. Rao[2]

He did his MSc from the Bangalore University and then moved to Delhi University to obtain his PhD. After obtaining his PhD from Delhi in 1977, Ganesh moved to Cambridge University to obtain one more PhD. He completed his second PhD within three years and then came back to India and in 1981 joined the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad. He worked as a scientist in the National Chemical Laboratory, Pune from 1987 to 2006, after which he held directorship at IISER Pune.

He is a fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences in Bangalore, the Indian National Science Academy in New Delhi, the National Academy of Sciences in Allahabad, a The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and a recipient of the JC Bose National Fellowship at the Department of Science & Technology in New Delhi
