Koyil Kaalai (Tamil: கோயில் காளை) is a 1993 Tamil drama film, directed by Gangai Amaran and produced by Gangai Amaran and Ilayaraja. The film stars Vijayakanth in the lead role, along with Kanaka, Sujatha and Veera Pandiyan in pivotal roles. The film had musical score by Ilayaraja.[1] The film was an average hit at the box office. It was later dubbed in Telugu as Maa Voori Maaraju.[2]
Kanaka performed in couple of glamorous songs that had good reception from the film viewers. This movie was her peak in Tamil cinema before her move to Malayalam movies and then her eventual decline in professional career.
