Kotigobba 2 (English: One in a crore - 2) is a 2016 Indian Kannada-language masala film directed by K. S. Ravikumar.[2] The film was produced by Rockline Venkatesh and M. Babu in Kannada and Tamil languages simultaneously, the latter as Mudinja Ivana Pudi.[3] The film features Kichcha Sudeep and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. Both versions of the film released on 12 August 2016 coinciding with the 2016 Varalakshmi Vrata.[4][5] The Tamil version was dubbed into Telugu as Kotikokkadu (English: One in a crore). The Telugu version will be presented by Lagadapati Srinivas.[6][7] The film was also dubbed into Hindi as Golimaar 2 in 2017 by Aditya Music India Pvt. Ltd. And went on to become highest-grossing film in history of Kannada cinema industry beating previous record of Mungaru Male film. The film of sequel kotigobba 3 wil be releasing on 25th december directed by shiva karthik

Plot

Satya (Sudeep) is a mild-natured, small-time youngster running a real estate agency, led by authoritative Shubha (Nithya Menen). Satya leads another life as Shiva (Sudeep), a burglar who loots the huge unaccounted money stocked by filthy rich businessmen. His purpose is to realise his father’s dream of becoming a billionaire, riding in a Mercedes Benz car, and leading a posh life. He manages to convince the cops and those around him that those crimes are the handiwork of his look-alike ruffian twin Shiva. However, the two businessmen (Mukesh Tiwari and Sharath Lohitashwa) he robbed from, and ACP Kishore (P. Ravi Shankar), a corrupt cop who tries to use this as an opportunity to make money, are keen on nailing him. Meanwhile, Satya falls in love with Shubha who is an upright and brave girl. The police needs to nab the burglar. Satya himself launches a complaint that it is his brother Shiva who does all the crimes. In one day Shubha goes with Satya and after praying businessman's thugs comes tries to kill and try to kidnap shubah after satya get into disguise into shiva and killed those businessman's people in accidentally shubah gets angry with satya. After Acp Kishore does not believe the existence of two people and suspects the hero and villain to be one, Kishore asks satya where is the money and after DCP (Nassar) arrives and shouted to kishore to release Satya and then one day Satya leaves a voice message that he leaving the town and tells about his father (Prakash raj) in childhood satya has been get beaten up some his friends that in childhood kishore beats satya's Father on head then satya's father can't seeing anything acting that shiva is goes to kill children after satya's Father gets fine he can see but satya's Father tells satya "To don't call me Father" then he leaved to an orphage in a day a businessman threatens orphanage manager tri in a night shivkumar goes to businessman that he killed him and afterwards satya escape in morning police arrive at orphanage satya tells police that shiva is killed for rescue orphanage In a day orphanage guys are taking to the trip that time satya hears his father's voice afterwards satya's Father died in a truck accident after Shubha and Satya's brief talks. The two businessman kidnaps shiva's men and family satya tries to explain but the two businessmen threatnes that you or shiva robbed money they want money back after skype connection lost bussissnesman's thugs retry and tells shiva is on Skype and Shiva tries to burn businessman's money and tells them leave those guys but shiva was playing a game that in the box is not a gasoline it's a pure mineral water shiva threatnes businessman that if you're a man come and kill me and take your money back afterwards satya arrives at shubah's house and promises that he will never do a wrong work in a Satya and Shubha roaming in a bike. But two businessmen comes and chases satya and satya kills the businessman after Acp Kishore arrive at jungle tries to kills shiva and satya calls DCP to that shiva tries to kill him then ACP Kishore kills Shiva and after three days kishore arrives at shiva's den and takes 100 croce after DCP arrives and tells kishore that they are following 1 week day and night afterward satya arrives there only. In a flashback shiva was threatened businessman after going outside kishore arrived tells that he was trying to follow 1 week day and night and tries to under arrest and Shiva tells to ACP Kishore that he will give 100 crore and tells businessman doesn"t give 2 crore they will only kill you and Kishore trust shiva after flashback satya tells kishore "You killed my brother for money" then kishore tries to tell DCP that he is shiva but satya tells DCP that how he is was my brother and tells kishore who gives to permission to kill him after DCP arrest kishore and he threantens satya "That I will come back i will not spare you" DCP and satya leaves and satya and shubha marriage fixed up At the end Satya proves that he is Kotigobba.

D. Imman scored the soundtrack and score for the film.[8] It is reported that actors Sudeep and Nithya Menen lent their voices for a song written by V. Nagendra Prasad.[9] The audio was officially released on 5 August 2016 and Anand Audio procured the music rights of the film.

Kotigobba 2 was released on 12 August 2016. The distribution rights of the movie were sold for 16 crores, the highest for any Kannada movie.[10]

Critical reception

Shyam Prasad S of Bangalore Mirror rated the film 3.5 stars out of 5, writing, "This film will satisfy those looking to get entertained and keep a tab on getting back their money's worth." The reviewer described the second half of the film as slow and noted that the film "does not test Sudeep's acting capabilities and only draws on his image and popularity."[11] Sunayana Suresh of The Times of India rated the film with 3.5/5 stars and stated, "Kotigobba 2 makes no bones of being the typical commercial entertainer, replete with multiple comedy tracks, romance, action and songs, with a soppy father-son sentiment track as a bonus."[12] Shashiprasad SM of Deccan Chronicle gave the film 3.5 out of 5 stars and wrote, "Kotigobba 2 is a guaranteed fun filled experience, and is a must for Kiccha fans."[13]
