Kosali Simon
Kosali Ilayperuma Simon is the Herman B Wells Endowed Professor in health economics at School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at Indiana University which she joined in 2010.[1][2]
Academic career
She graduated with a bachelor's in economics and German Literature from Hamilton College in 1994. She then proceeded to obtain a doctorate degree in economics from University of Maryland, College Park in 1999.[3][4]
She is a research associate at the NBER particularly interested in children and economics and health economics.[5] She is widely respected in the field of health economics and is widely consulted by the press.[6][7][8]
Kosali is also an associate editor of the Journal of Health Economics.[9]
Recently, some of her work has focused on the impact of the Affordable Care Act on the labour market regarding work hours; she finds very minimal effect on part-time work as a result of the institution of the law.[10][11]
