Konstantina Moutos

Konstantina Moutos is a Greek-New Zealand fashion designer. She won the Supreme Award at the Benson & Hedges Fashion Design Awards twice, in 1984 and 1986.[1]

Life

Moutos was born in Wellington, New Zealand, to Greek parents. In 1984, at the age of 20, she won the Supreme Award at the national fashion awards, the Benson & Hedges; two years later she won it again.[2] Moutos established a studio in Wellington and supplied boutiques in both Wellington and Auckland.[2] In 1991, she was one of the judges for the Benson & Hedges awards.[3]

In 1991 Moutos moved to Greece and continued her career as a fashion designer there.[2] The black evening dress which won the 1986 award was featured in an exhibition in Auckland in 2011 curated by the New Zealand Fashion Museum, entitled Black in Fashion.[4]
