Kintbury Newt Ponds

Kintbury Newt Ponds is a Local nature reserve on the edge of Kintbury.[1] The nature reserve is under the management of the Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust.[2]

Geography and site

The site is 2.5 hectares in size.[2] The reserve is made up of several ponds, reedbed, scrub and grassland.[3]

History

Kintbury Newt Ponds was given its nature reserve status in the late 1990s when the site was discovered to have resident Great Crested Newts, which stopped a housing development being built on the site.[2]
