Khaga is a town and a nagar panchayat in Fatehpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is situated on NH 19 between the cities of Allahabad, which is also known as Prayag, and Kanpur and is also connected to those places by rail, by which Allahabad is 86 kilometres (53 mi) distant and Kanpur 102 kilometres (63 mi). The north boundary of the district is limited by the river Ganges and its southern boundary is the river Yamuna.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Khaga had a population of 12,0020. Males constituted 53% of the population and females 47%. The average literacy rate of 90% was higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy was 93% and female literacy was 87%. 20% of the population was under 6 years of age.[1]

Khaga has an average elevation of 107 metres (351 feet).

Railways

Khaga is connected with important cities by train by use of Fatehpur railway station on the Mughalsarai-Kanpur section of the Howrah-Delhi main line.
