Keyvan Sheikhalishahi (born April 15, 1998) is a French film director, screenwriter, producer and former blogger.

Life and career

At an early age, he was fascinated by the making of films. He began making unreleased amateur films at age twelve with his mother's camera. Each time, he took care of all the jobs. He made his last amateur film Turba at 16. Despite amateur conditions, the trailer was appreciated by French and international film festivals, some actors, directors and producers who encouraged to carry on.

Meanwhile, Sheikhalishahi had exposure with his bog Fenêtre sur écran, shortlisted among the 10 best cinema blogs by the audience in 2015 by the Golden Blog Awards.[1] The blog became better known thanks to geometrical figures Sheikhalishahi used to better understand the narrative construction of the movies.

As a Bond fan, he was invited in Le Cercle's Frédéric Beigbeder in November 2015 for the review of James Bond Spectre.[2]

He studied at Lycée Pasteur (Neuilly-sur-Seine) and later at Sorbonne Nouvelle in Paris.[3]

He convinced German actor Götz Otto, who he knew from a very early age by Tomorrow Never Dies, to star in his first professional short film at the age of 17 the same year. Thus, Götz Otto and Agnès Godey star as two mysterious characters haunted by the past and the stars in Vesper. He worked with well-known French composer Gréco Casadesus and French-American director of photography Jean-Claude Aumont. Godey and Casadesus reportedly were the two first persons who committed to the project. Sheikhalishahi explained having Casadesus involved to the project was a turning point and then tried to convince Otto. Finally, the short film was shot the following year during the summer of 2016. In 2017 and 2018, the short film won 44 awards in international film festivals, including Moondance International Film Festival's 'Dolphin Award'.[4]

He was member of jury of Mobile Film Festival, under president Emmanuelle Bercot, to award the price of bloggers that same year.[5]

In 2018, Australian actor Matt Passmore and English actress Brigitte Millar star in his new short film Nox as two burglars on the east coast. On senatorial election night, they break into a Senator's Villa.[6] Agnès Godey also takes part in the movie. Sheikhalishahi reportedly chose Passmore after watching him in The Glades as a young teenager.
