Kelly Benoit-Bird is a marine scientist, associate professor at Oregon State University and now at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute.[1] She is a MacArthur Fellow.[2]

Benoit-Bird has been fascinated by the ocean since fourth grade, and is the first in her family to attend college.[3]
