In Indonesia, a subdistrict (Indonesian: kecamatan)[1] is a subdivision of regencies (kabupaten) and cities (kota). A subdistrict is itself divided into administrative villages (kelurahan). In Papua and West Papua, the equivalent subdivision is called a district (distrik).[2]
