Kawaji Toshiyoshi

Kawaji Toshiyoshi (川路利良, Satsuma Province, c. 1829^[1] – 1879^[2]) was a Japanese politician during the Meiji period.

In Tokyo Kawaji planned to establish a police system similar to the gens d'armes in France.^[1] He traveled to Europe to investigate its police system to help improve the Japanese system.^[3]
