Karim Abubakar

Karim Abubakar (born 30 June 1995), is a Ghanaian professional footballer who is currently a free agent. He primarily plays as a striker.

Home career

He began his career with a Ghanaian Junior level team called Proud United (Ghana). In 2008/2009, He was the top goal scorer for his side (Proud United, a second division team)

In 2009/2010, Abubakar moved to the first division side Gamba All Blacks, where he continued as a striker.

He transferred to Medeama S.C.'s reserve team in 2010/2011. He was the top scorer of the season, and the team went on to become Champions of the Southern Zone. Abubakar earned first team spot after a successful season with the reserve side and played a further two seasons.

Abubakar was loaned in the January transfer window of the 2012/2013 season to Okwahu United, another first division team, which reached promotion play offs.

International career

In 2013/2014, Abubakar signed a three-year contract with Spanish side CD Leganés, where he played four months with the Under-19 CD Leganés team.

Later that season, he was loaned to AD Alcorcón B in the Tercera División (third division). He was the top scorer and player of the year for his side, despite arriving mid-season.

In 2014/2015 he returned to CD Leganés' first team, and made a pre-season appearance. He was later loaned to UB Conquense in the Segunda División B (Spanish 2B division).[1] His contract was terminated due to unsettled salaries. Abubakar then joined CD Don Benito in the Tercera División.

In 2016/2017 he moved to CD Valdivia, also in the Spanish Third Division.[2][3]

In 2017/2018 he moved to UP Plasencia also in the Spanish Third Division.
