Karala, Delhi

Karala is a village in North West Delhi, India. It is located on the main Kanjhawla road, and is part of the Saraswati-Vihar sub-division.

Demographics

Karala is the largest village of Delhi. The main gotra of the people in Karala is Mathur(Matyasar),Vats and others. they are permanent domicile of the area and Delhi too.

How to reach

The village is almost 5 km far from mundka railway station, metro station and almost 7 km far from ghewra village railways station. you can easily access to the village by getting bus no 114, 174, garmin mudrika, 247 from pitampura metro station.it is very good place.

Geography

The village has now been merged with Rohini Sector 37,Sector 38. Nearby villages are Kanjhawala, Majri, Rani Khera, sultanpur dabas and Begumpur. karala has its own water tank. karala village have its own Sanskrit college the one of the oldest Sanskrit pathshala since the english time. the one of the famous shaheed bhagat singh park situated in the middle of the village called bazar panna the ancient place where all the trade union meeting held. The great Radha Krishna mandir situated in "Bazar panna". the temple is the symbol of hindu worship towards lord krishna. The village also has a big stadium with a football playground.The song of famous movie "Rockstar" - "Jo bhi main" was shoot in the same stadium on 14 December 2010. Famous Jatin Singh Chauhan is live there.

Landmarks

There is a big temple in the town known as Dada Mandu used for worship by the people of Karala and Majri. There is also a big pond adjacent to the temple and an ancient Lord Shiv Mandir.The village also has a big stadium with a football playground.There is also a park named as "Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park". karala has also two teams of football which is KFC(Karala Football Club). It has two schools one is primary and another is secondory & sr. Secondary which has two shifts one for girls and evening for boys, one despensary. Karala contains many small new settlements namely Shiv Vihar, AnandPurDham, Rama Vihar etc.

Village karala comes under the sdm office and police station of kanjhawla area. its all judicial activities comes under SDM sarswati vihar New Delhi. All the law and order situation fall under the area of Kanjhawala police station. the councillor seat no 29 come under karala administration. karala is the head of all the 17 village pardhan. at present choudhary harichand is the current pardhan of karala village with 17 village. karala have 6 chopal including all communities.
