Kanaa (film)

Kanaa (English: Dream) is an upcoming Indian Tamil language Sports Drama film starring Aishwarya Rajesh, Sathyaraj & Darshan in lead roles, where Sivakarthikeyan did an extended cameo role. The film is written and directed by Arunraja Kamaraj, helming the director's hat for the first time. The film will have music composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, cinematography by Dinesh Krishnan, edited by Ruben and produced by Sivakarthikeyan under his newly established Sivakarthikeyan Productions^[1] banner.

Production

Arunraja Kamaraj who is well-known for his chart-buster songs like Dub Theri Step, Neruppu Da and Varlaam Vaa as a singer and lyricist, revealed that he would be helming a movie about women’s cricket. This is supposed to be a fresh venture written by Arun himself, further talking about the project he said that an audition has been planned to choose girls/women who can play cricket well.^[2]

This project was officially launched on February 2018, and actor Sivakarthikeyan making a debut as the producer of the venture, under his newly-established SK Productions banner, with actors Aishwarya Rajesh and Sathyaraj joining the cast, and debut actor Darshan was signed to play the male lead role.^[3] Dhibu Ninan Thomas, who earlier composed for Maragadha Naanayam was selected as the music director. Meanwhile, Dinesh Krishnan, Ruben, and Lalgudi N Ilayaraja was signed as cinematographer, editor and art director respectively for this film.

Soundtrack

The film's soundtrack is composed by Dhibu Ninan Thomas, who happens to be classmates with Sivakarthikeyan and Arunraja Kamaraj on their college days. The album features 5 songs of which "Vaayadi Petha Pulla" is sung by Sivakarthikeyan's daughter Aaradhana.
