Kami Rita Sherpa

Kami Rita Sherpa (born 1969 og 1970) is a Nepali Sherpa guide who achieved the record for most ascents to the summit of Mount Everest after reaching it for a 22nd time in May 2018 at the age of 48.[1][2] His father was one of the first professional Sherpa guides.

In 2017, Kami was the third person to ascend to the summit of Everest 21 times along with Apa Sherpa and Phurba Tashi Sherpa.[3][4][5]

In May 2018, Kami Sherpa became the first person in the world to climb Mount Everest 22 times. He holds the record of the most summits on Mt. Everest[6][7].

About names

Kami works for the mountaineering firm Alpine Ascents.[8][9]

There is also another Kami Rita Sherpa who works on Everest, and had his 16th summit in 2017 with Adventure Consultants.[10]
