Kalwan is a tahsil in Kalwan subdivision of Nashik District in Maharashtra, India. Kalwan is situated 80 km from Nashik and 251 km from state capital Mumbai. Saptashrungi gad is situated in kalwan taluka. Sapashrungi gad is 22 km from kalwan. Dhodap hill fort which is popular mountain climbing destination and 3rd highest peak in Maharashtra is situated 8 km from kalwan city. Abhona is the largest town in Kalwan tehsil after Kalwan city.[1] Kalwan is situated delta of Behadi and Girana river. So black soil and enough water are available for cultivation of crash corp. Thus GDP of Kalwan tehasil is among the best in India. The majority of people doing farming here are maratha. the surnames of those maratha people are Shewale, Pagar, Nikam, Shinde.
