Kadipur (Hindi: कादीपुर, ) is a town and a nagar panchayat (tehsil) in Sultanpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

Kadipur tehsil has 4 blocks: Akhand Nagar, Dostpur, Kadipur and Karaundi Kala. The Current MLA is Rajesh Gautam of BJP. Anirudh Nagar, Vivekananda Nagar and Jawahar Nagar is the some largest populated Colony.

Geography

Kadipur is located at 26°10′N 82°23′E / 26.17°N 82.38°E / 26.17; 82.38.[1] It has an average elevation of 90 metres (295 feet).

It is situated on the bank of Gomti River.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census,[2] Kadipur had a population of 6795. Males constitute 53% of the population and females 47%. Kadipur has an average literacy rate of 62%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 69%, and female literacy is 55%. In Kadipur, 16% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Kadipur is situated on Lucknow to Balia national Highway. Borders of Kadipur touches Jaisinghpur & Lambhua tehsil of Sultanpur district and Jaunpur, Ambedkarnagar, Azamgarh & Pratapgarh districts.

Famous festivals of Kadipur are Durgapooja, Dipawali, Holi, Krishna barahi & Eid.

Dhopap and Bijethua Mahaveeran & Gorishankar are the famous place of Kadipur.

There is no railway station & airport in Kadipur.It can be reached by bus from Sultanpur.

Tulsidas PG college is main college of kadipur.

Two canals, "Sharda Sahayak Nehar", provide irrigation in the tehsil.
