Kabir Bakul is a Bangladeshi lyricist. He is also a journalist.[1] He won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Lyrics four times for the films Megher Kole Rod (2008), Swami Strir Wada (2009), Nisshash Amar Tumi (2010) and Purno Doirgho Prem Kahini (2013).[2][3][4] As of 2013, he wrote about 5000 songs.[1]
Early life and career
Bakul was born and grew up in Chandpur.[5][1] He was a student at the University of Dhaka.[5]
Bakul was a reporter for Bhorer Kagoj.[6] He has been serving as the head of Prothom Alo's Ananda page since 2004.[7]
In 1988, Bakul got his breakthrough with the help of musician Tapan Chowdhury. His first song Kaal Shara Raat was featured in Ayub Bachchu's first solo album Moina.[5] He started writing songs professionally in 1991.[5] In 1994, he wrote his first song for a feature film, Agni Shantan.[5]
Bakul hosted a musical television programme titled "Sur Shambhar," aired on Bangladesh Television.[5]

Personal life
Bakul is married to musician Dinat Jahan Munni since 1997.[8] Together they had two daughters, Prerona and Protikkha, and a son, Prochchhod.[9]
