KLSN-LP (92.9 FM, "East County Radio")) is an LPFM station in Oakley, California. Serving the East Contra Costa County area, KLSN-LP went on the air officially on March 3, 2017 with a classic hits format. In addition to music, KLSN-LP broadcasts local sports from the area high schools.[1][2][3]

Current Status

KLSN-LP is currently off-air due to an equipment failure and controversy surrounding the placement of transmission equipment. Tower operator American Tower and the City of Antioch allege that they had not given permission for KLSN-LP to place equipment at their site. However, the station general manager stated that he had obtained informal permission from Mayor Sean Wright to do so when KLSN-LP was under pressure from the FCC to find a site to place a transmitter or face license revocation.[2][4]
