KGEZ (600 AM) is an American broadcast radio station licensed to Kalispell, Montana and serving the Flathead region of western Montana. KGEZ is owned and operated by John Hendricks, President and GM of Flathead Valley Wireless Association, LLC. The KGEZ frequency is 600 kHz, a regional broadcast frequency.[1]

History


KGEZ is Montana's second oldest station, and the oldest in the Flathead. It first signed on in 1927.[2] The station was assigned these call letters by the Federal Communications Commission.[3]

Station Status

KGEZ is one of the most listened-to radio stations in NW Montana. In addition to being available at 600 AM, KGEZ is also available at 96.5FM and a live stream from its website, KGEZ.com with free applications for iPhones and Android smart phones.

The "KGEZ Good Morning Show", hosted by John Hendricks and Robin Mitchell, is filled with national, regional and local news. Each morning, John and Robin feature as many as 5-conversations with community leaders, local and state officials and our Congressional delegation. KGEZ is the voice of the Flathead High School Braves and Bravettes and the Montana State University Bobcats.

"The Nach On Sports" Show, hosted by Anthony Nachreiner, talks local and national sports for every season each weekday evening from 6:00 to 8:00. His guests includes sportswriters from publications across Montana and the nation. Special coverage is given to local sports teams, including Kalispell, Whitefish, Columbia Falls, Polson, Bigfork and Eureka High Schools. During the summer months, "Nach" provides updated information for backcountry campers and hikers, as well as anglers, hunters and other sports enthusiasts.

KGEZ is the "voice" of the Flathead High School Braves and Bravettes and the Montana State University Bobcats.

For the rest of the day, KGEZ features a unique blend of music from the 50s, 60s and early 70s. Sunday mornings are given over to specialty music shows, including "Seems Like Old Times" from 7:00 to 9:00, featuring music from the 1930s, 40s and 50s followed by "Sunday Morning Westerns", an hour of music from the REAL West.
