KDMD is an Ion Television-affiliated television station licensed to Anchorage, Alaska, United States. It broadcasts a standard definition digital signal on UHF channel 32 (or virtual channel 33 via PSIP) from a transmitter located in Eagle River. Owned by Ketchikan Television, KDMD maintains studios on East 66th Avenue near the Seward Highway in Anchorage.
History
The station debuted on the air on October 1, 1989 with a mix of religious, classic TV and infomercial programming before joining Pax TV (the original name for Ion) in 1998. Today, it airs Ion Television and a variety of local programming. KDMD used to carry Seattle Mariners baseball via the Mariners Television Network.
In June 2007, the station began broadcasting Telemundo on a digital subchannel, making it the first Spanish-language broadcast station in Alaska.
