K. P. Power Solar Park is the largest private sector solar park approved by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission in India[2] which is spread over a total area of 2,600 acres (11 km2) in Patoda, Beed District, Maharashtra, India. The park is proposed to have a capacity of 500 MW.[3] Maharashtra has witnessed bids for tariff of Rs 4.42 per kWh in 2016, and it is expected the rates will go down further by the time K. P. Power Solar Park is completed.[4]

Location

Patoda is a tehsil in Beed subdivision of Beed district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Patoda is situated on banks of river Manjra, which is a tributary of river Godavari, and the area is known for its Black cotton soil. Average temperatures in Bhadla hover between 25 and 42 degrees Celsius.[5]
