Kåre Hedley "Bruttern" Ingebrigtsen (born 11 November 1965 in Trondheim) is a Norwegian football manager and a former player. His latest work was for Rosenborg BK. He played as a midfielder. The nickname "Bruttern" translates as "brother" and was coined by friend and former teammate Jahn Ivar Jakobsen.[1]

Career

During his career he played for Rosenborg BK, Lillestrøm SK, Manchester City F.C., and Strømsgodset IF as a midfielder. He earned 23 caps for the Norway national football team.[2]

He made 17 appearances for Manchester City, scoring three goals, all of them in an FA Cup match against Leicester City F.C. on 8 January 1994.[3]

In 2007, he coached Ranheim Fotball and was the assistant coach of Rosenborg BK. At the end of the year he got the job as manager for Bodø/Glimt.[4] He remained at the club until July 2011 when he left his post as manager due to poor results.[5]

In April 2012, Ingebrigtsen stopped being a manager and instead became a car salesman.[6]

In the summer of 2014, Rosenborg were on the look out for an interim manager after sacking Per Joar Hansen, and they turned to Ingebrigtsen. After a rough start with three losses and only one win in his first four league matches, everything turned for the better and they finished the season strong with nine wins out of ten matches. After the excellent end to the season, which secured Rosenborg second place and a Europa League qulifying spot, Ingebrigtsen got offered the job on permanent basis.[7] Since then he has managed Rosenborg to three straight league titles, two national cup titles and two supercup titles as well as qualifying to the group stages of the Europa League twice in three season.
