The song was a big hit in her native UK, reaching the Top 10 and peaking at #8 on the UK Singles Chart in October 1982.[2] Other singles did not fare as well, with only one other reaching the Top 40, her version of "Cry Me a River" in 1983 which reached #27. "Just What I Always Wanted" appears on her 1983 debut album, Showpeople.
