Significant design DVCS software: Git development and maintenance

Junio C Hamano (濱野 純, Hamano Jun[1]) is a Japanese software engineer living in California[2] and working for Google.[3] Hamano is best known for being the maintainer of Git since 26 July 2005, two months after its first release.[4][5] Linus Torvalds said in 2012 that one of his own biggest successes was recognizing how good a developer Hamano was on Git, and trusting him to maintain it.[6]
