Jug (dog)

The Jug is a mix of a pug and a Jack Russell Terrier. They are bred to retain the basic features of a pug with a slightly longer nose in an attempt to reduce the breathing problems that pugs are notorious for.[1]

Description

Having gained immense popularity as designer dogs, they are generally characterized by a round head, short or slightly elongated muzzle and a curly tail. It has a small body structure with a lighter physique compared to a pug but is as strong as the Jack Russell Terrier. However, the physical features may differ from one dog to the other depending on the extent to which they have inherited the physical features of their respective parents.[2]

The Jug is a popular designer dog that has been in development since the 1960s, an intentional crossbreed between the Jack Russell Terrier, an energetic and enthusiastic fox hunting dog developed in England, and the Pug, an ancient lapdog that was favored in China for thousands of years. [3]
