Judith McKenna (born 1966/1967) is a British businesswoman, and the CEO of Walmart's international division, since January 2018, when she succeeded David Cheesewright.
Early life
McKenna is British,[1] and grew up in Middlesbrough.[2][3] Her parents were teachers, and her older sister became a social worker.[3]
She was educated at a local comprehensive school, then earned a bachelor's degree in law at University of Hull.[3]
Career
McKenna started her career with KPMG, followed by Carlsberg Tetley and Allied Domecq, and joined Asda in 1996.[2]
McKenna was promoted to chief operating officer (COO) of Asda in July 2011.[3]
She worked with David Cheesewright, running Asda in the UK, before moving to the US in 2014.[1]
In January 2018, it was announced thast she would succeed Cheesewright as CEO of Walmart International.[1][2]
Personal life
McKenna met her future husband Phil Dutton, former finance director of Punch Taverns, when both were working at Asda.[2] They have two children.[2]
