The Journal of Chemical Sciences is a bimonthly peer-viewed scientific journal that publishes original research articles, review articles and rapid communications in all areas of chemistry. It is published by Springer Science+Business Media on behalf of the Indian Academy of Sciences. The editor-in-chief is N. Periasamy (Tata Institute of Fundamental Research).

History

The Journal of Chemical Sciences was originally part of the Proceedings of the Indian Academy of Sciences – Part A. This journal was established in 1934, but in 1978 it was split into three different journals: Journal of Chemical Sciences, Journal of Earth System Science, and Proceedings - Mathematical Sciences, all of them continuing as "volume 87".
