José María Amo Torres (born 9 April 1998) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Sevilla Atlético as a central defender.

Club career

Born in Las Pajanosas, Seville, Andalusia, Amo joined Sevilla FC's youth setup in 2006, aged eight.[1] On 4 October 2015, while still a youth, he made his senior debut for the reserves by starting in a 1–1 away draw against Marbella FC for the Segunda División B championship.

Amo contributed with six appearances during the campaign, as his side achieved promotion to Segunda División. On 15 June 2016, despite being injured, he renewed his contract until 2019.[2]

Amo made his professional debut on 19 March 2017, coming on as a late substitute for Marc Gual in a 2–1 away win against Real Zaragoza; after Fabrice Ondoa's dismissal, he featured as the club's goalkeeper for the last minutes.[3]

Amo tore his meniscus on 10 December 2017, being sidelined for seven months.[4]
