José Antonio Álvarez Álvarez is the CEO of Santander Group, the Spanish banking group centred on Banco Santander, the largest bank in the Eurozone by market value.

Álvarez has been CEO of Santander Group since January 2015.[2]

He was appointed CEO "co-opted" in the council meeting of November 25, 2014, replacing Javier Marín Romano. In June 2015, Banco Santander reduced its corporate structure and high dirección.
