Jordan Schmidt is a multi-platinum songwriter, music producer, engineer, and mixing engineer. He has co-written, produced, engineered or mixed songs for Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Granger Smith, Kane Brown, Chris Lane, One Ok Rock, Old Dominion, Hunter Hayes, Mitchell Tenpenny, Chris Lane, Nick Fradiani, The Swon Brothers, Motion City Soundtrack, All Time Low, Patent Pending, Forever in Your Mind, and many others. He resides in Nashville, Tennessee.
Early years and personal life
Jordan Schmidt was born in Duluth, Minnesota, on February 26, 1988. He was drawn to music at an early age, picking up the guitar when he was 10 years old, and began recording local artists at the age of 16. In 2006, Schmidt moved to College Park, Maryland, and take a job as Matt Squire's assistant.[1] After working with Matt, he moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, where he recorded bands such as Motion City Soundtrack, Quietdrive,[2] Sing It Loud,[3] You, Me, and Everyone We Know, Jamestown Story, Paradise Fears, Take Cover, and The Role Call.[4] Schmidt also produced or co-wrote songs featured in popular TV shows, such as: Hart of Dixie, NCIS: New Orleans, Nashville, Catfish, Battle Creek, Jersey Shore, The Biggest Loser, Dr. Phil, One Tree Hill, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, The Real World, Snooki & JWoww, Teen Mom, 16 and Pregnant, True Life, The Challenge: Rivals, Bad Girls Club, The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Life Unexpected, Are You the One?, Friendzone, 90210, The Challenge: Rivals II, I Used To Be Fat, and Life Unexpected.
In 2012, Schmidt moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he and his brother Dane Schmidt founded WeVolve Music, a music management, publishing and artist development company.[5] In April 2015, Jordan Schmidt became the first writer/producer signed to Tree Vibez Music, founded by Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line.[6] In July 2016, Jordan celebrated his first #1 song with Jason Aldean's "Lights Come On" and in October 2017 he secured his second #1 song with Kane Brown's "What Ifs." Schmidt then landed his third #1 song with Jason Aldean's You Make It Easy in May of 2018. He currently has songs on the charts with Craig Campbell's "See You Try", Mitchell Tenpenny's "Drunk Me" and Rodney Atkins' "Caught Up In The Country".
